Lonnie's '42 Willys Pick-up

OK, so the story on this '42 Willys pick-up is that from 1942 to about 1965 this was a Willys factory vehicle. Supposedly it was used as the plant fire truck. When Lonnie got it it didn't have a hood or bed or front-end and the previous owner had installed a old Nova 4-cyl and a powerglide. As you can see it's well on it's way to a 60's gasser.

Here is a pic at the 2008 Back to the 50's show.

Bob fabricated the shortened box out of a '48-49 Dodge truck box.

This is the 409 that was in Lonnie's '55, this little truck should scream!!

Alright, so Al sends me this e-mail tonight...

"The secrets out!! Looks like sneaky Lonnie and Bob have been busy painting Lonnie’s '42!! I happened to drive by Lonnie’s house today and WOW…the red truck is now blue, sweet looking blue with tons of silver. Not sure if they will clear the paint…looks killer just the way it is! They must have been planning this for some time but never let on. It’ll be at “Back to the 50’s” car show in two weeks and I think people will flip out when they see it!!"

More from Al...

"Look, he can’t stop smiling!! That’s Lonnie and his son Jack holding the fenders up to get a look. Might be the coolest gasser on the planet!!!"

All lettered up and ready to go!
